Sea Monsters
by Brad Scott
The Hebrew word tanniyn (תנין) is translated as sea monsters or whales in the English Bible. This word is the origin for many kinds of sea creatures in various languages. In English, we get the word tuna from this Hebrew word. In New Zealand, an eel is referred to as a tuna. The Polynesian people also refer to unusual sea creatures as tuna. So, the next time you are in a restaurant, try ordering a sea monster sandwich, hold the mayo!
