Stewardship*

- bayit (ב) – sign of His hand on the house
To be a good steward or "keeper of the house" is to always make the home the most important focus of your life. The home and family prevail over all, whether the House of God or the house where you live. Every righteous trait we possess is designed to make the simple things in life the greatest focus of attention. If where you spend most of your time is in order, then blessings in the lesser things will follow. To be a good steward is to always have the home in mind in everything you set your hand to do.

In the New Testament, our Greek word is oikonomos. Oikia is where one dwells and nomos is law or Torah. The Torah of the house.
* the English word steward springs from a contraction of two old Saxon words. The ‘ste’ from the word to stow and the word "ward" or room, place.
